Once a thief found the bell on his neighbor’s door so beautiful that hewanted to steal it. And淤as soon as he touched the bell， it made a very loudnoise.

Then he said to himself， “I must do something about noise于.”He thoughthard and at last he had an idea. “Ah， I’ll put some cotton in my ears. Then thenoise can’t be heard any more.”Then he did so and pulled the bell hard. Thebell rang loudly but the thief did not hear something盂. With another hard pull hegot the bell off. Just then the neighbors came out and caught him.

The thief thought as long as he himself couldn’t hear the noise， neithercould others. What榆foolish the thief was！

①And 改為But。上下文有轉(zhuǎn)折意味，因此應(yīng)使用轉(zhuǎn)折連詞。

②noise 前面加定冠詞the。這里特指上文提及過的noise，因此加定冠詞the。

③something 改為anything。否定句中通常使用anything 而不是something。
