The Water Cube is located in Beijing Olympic Sport Park, and covers an area of 79532 square metres, and has a seating capacity of about 11,000 spectators. The construction was started in December 2003, and was completed in January 2008. Its design plan—H2O3 was produced by the global design competition. It cost about 1.02 billion yuan. Last week in our English class, we had a very heated discussion on the topic “Does beauty really make much sense?” Some students think that a fair face is a letter of recommendation. Good-looking appearance often makes a big difference in social communication, social competition, job hunting and so on. Not only can it make you become more confident but also it makes a lasting impression on the interviewer in the job interview.

Other students hold different opinions. They think charming appearance doesnt make any difference. Spiritual beauty is more important. A capable person is not necessarily good-looking. And similarly a fair-looking guy is not necessarily one with a great talent and kind heart.

In my opinion, both physical beauty and spiritual beauty are of the same importance. What I mean is that we should never ignore our spiritual beauty training while simply pursuing pretty appearance.
