Joan： Now you can watch opera from Europe， along withsome special behind-the-scenes video features from majoropera houses， all for free！ The Opera Platform （www.opera-platform.eu）， just launched in May， is a program organizedjointly by the Creative Europe Program of the EuropeanUnion （which provided half ofits funding）， ARTE （French-German cultural television station） and Opera Europa （theprofessional association of opera houses and festivals in Eu-rope）.

Valery： So the format is similar to Beijing's National Centrefor Performing Arts offering its opera productions，introduc-tions and rehearsal highlights. The ultimate goal for theseonline programs is to educate the public and expand thereach ofopera to a much wider world.

Joan： Yes. Opera Platform currently has 15 presentingpartners， including the Vienna State Opera， Madrid's TeatroReal and London's Royal Opera House， as well as the Aix-en-Provence Festival. Opera productions are available for
