◎用法掃描

英語(yǔ)中的定冠詞the，主要用于名詞之前表示某個(gè)（些）特定的人或事物，有this、that、these、those的含義。

一、下列情況要用定冠詞the

1.特指某個(gè)（些）人或事物。例如：

The boy in black shoes is Jack.穿黑色鞋的男孩是杰克。

2.表示雙方都知道的或上文已提及的人或物的前面。例如：

Close the door，please.請(qǐng)關(guān)門(mén)。

She has a car.The car is red.她有一輛小汽車。那輛小汽車是紅色的。

3.用在世界上獨(dú)一無(wú)二的事物名稱前面。例如：

The sun is much bigger than the moon.太陽(yáng)比月亮大多了。

4.用在形容詞最高級(jí)或序數(shù)詞的前面。例如：

The fifth book is mine.第五本書(shū)是我的。

This is the most educational movie that I have ever seen.這是我所看過(guò)的最有教育意義的電影。

5.用在演奏某種樂(lè)器的名稱前面。例如：

She plays the violin better than I.她演奏小提琴比我演奏得好。

6.用在表示方向或方位的名詞前面。例如：

in the south在南方

to the north向北方

7.用在復(fù)數(shù)姓氏前面表示夫婦二人或全家人。例如：The Greens are fond of music.格林全家人都喜歡音樂(lè)。

8.用在江、河、海、山脈、大洋、群島等名稱前面。例如：

the Yellow River黃河

the Pacific Ocean太平洋

the Himalayas喜馬拉雅山脈

9.普通名詞變成專有名詞時(shí)或整十的數(shù)詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式表示年代。例如：

the Great Wall長(zhǎng)城

the United States美國(guó)

in the thirties在三十年代

in the sixties在六十年代

10.用在某些固定搭配中。例如：

by the way

in the morning

at the same time

at the age of

on the other hand

【拓展】某些形容詞前面加the指某一類人。例如：

the poor窮人們

the rich富人們

the young年輕人們the old老人們

the sick病人們

the disabled殘疾人們

in charge of負(fù)責(zé)……—in the charge of由……負(fù)責(zé)

in control of掌控……—in the control of由……掌控

leave school畢業(yè)；輟學(xué)—leave the school離開(kāi)學(xué)校

take advice征求建議—take the advice接受建議

take place發(fā)生—take the place of取代

out of question沒(méi)問(wèn)題—out of the question不可能的

by sea乘船—by the sea在大海旁

by day在白天—by the day按日計(jì)算

be in hospital因病住院—be in the hospital在醫(yī)院里（不一定是看?。?/p>

go to school去上學(xué)—go to the school到學(xué)校去（不是去讀書(shū)）

go to bed上床睡覺(jué)—go to the bed到床那里去

go to church去做禮拜—go to the church到教堂去

go to sea出?！猤o to the sea到海邊去
