There are more bicycles than people in Holland. In the country, many people use mobile phones while riding bicycles, which raises growing fears about safety. As a result, using a mobile phone while cycling is to be banned according to a new law.
The law shall come into use in July, 2019 and it will stop the use of mobile phones while people are driving any vehicles (including bicycles).
Although people often ride bicycles at lower speeds, in fact, using a mobile phone is just as dangerous on a bicycle as it is in a car. The fact is that you should be paying full attention and not doing anything at all on a mobile phone whenever youre on the road.
The increasing popularity of electric bicycles meant cyclists average speed had risen, while the countrys 22,000 miles of cycle lanes and paths had become more crowded.
It was said one in five bicycle accidents involving people aged 12 to 25 last year involved a mobile phone, according to one study.
A survey shows that 75% of the Dutch believe the active use of a mobile phone—calling, texting, playing games, downloading music and so on—on bicycles should be considered illegal, with most people saying they had witnessed dangerous situations because they use mobile phones while riding bicycles.

1.In the country, many people use mobile phones while riding bicycles, which raises growing fears about safety.
which raises growing fears about safety是非限制性定語從句,關(guān)系代詞which代替前面的句子In the country, many people use mobile phones while riding bicycles;raise在這里作及物動詞,意為“引起;導(dǎo)致”,后接名詞、代詞或者動名詞作賓語,偶爾在賓語后接“to be + n. / adj.”
You raise your voice to be loud!
2.As a result, using a mobile phone while cycling is to be banned according to a new law.
using a mobile phone while cycling是動名詞短語,在句中作主語,動名詞短語作主語時,謂語動詞要用第三人稱單數(shù)形式。
3.The fact is that you should be paying full attention and not doing anything at all on a mobile phone whenever youre on the road.
4.The increasing popularity of electric bicycles meant cyclists average speed had risen, while the countrys 22,000 miles of cycle lanes and paths had become more crowded.
become more crowded是系表結(jié)構(gòu),意為“變得更加擁擠”,more crowded是形容詞crowded的比較級形式。
