“I trust the Chinese government, their medics, and their researchers. I am sure China can and will defeat this virus.” said Habib Ur Rehman, a Pakistani student at China University of Geosciences (CUG) in Wuhan.

Rehman from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been studying as a doctoral candidate at Gemmological Institute of CUG since September, 2017. Rehman started learning Chinese sealcutting from Professor Song Bin in 2019. Recently, he made a seal-cutting work to express his support for Wuhan in the battle against the epidemic.

“It’s known that China and Pakistan enjoy an all-weather partnership. They always help each other during hard times. Wuhan has given me a safe environment for my study. Now the city is going through a tough period and no one can sit around when their home is in danger. Everyone is encouraging Wuhan. I also want to do something special to show my love for Wuhan.” Rehman told the reporter about the motivation for his seal-cutting work.

“我相信中國政府、醫(yī)護人員和科研工作者, 你們一定會贏得抗擊疫情的勝利?！敝袊刭|大學（武漢）巴基斯坦籍博士研究生韓博（Habib Ur Rehman）如是說。

來自巴基斯坦開伯爾-普什圖省的韓博自2017年9月在中國地質大學（武漢）珠寶學院學習。2019年，他師從中國地質大學（武漢）宋斌教授開始學習篆刻藝術。近日，為表達他對武漢抗擊疫情的支持，特地創(chuàng)作了一個篆刻作品，內容為“武漢加油”。

“全世界都知道中國和巴基斯坦的全天候友誼，中巴總能在危難時刻支持彼此。武漢在過去的兩年多里為我提供了良好的學習環(huán)境?，F在，武漢正處在困難時期。沒有人可以眼看著自己的家園處于危難中而不做點什么。每一個人都在支持、鼓勵武漢。我也想做點特別的事情來表達我對武漢的愛和感激?！表n博告訴記者創(chuàng)作“武漢加油”這一篆刻作品的初衷。

韓博說他衷心地感謝中國政府、武漢政府在如此艱難的情況下盡全力保證在漢國際學生的安全并為其提供生活必需品。

韓博也代表巴基斯坦學生對中國地質大學（武漢）絲綢之路學院給予他們的關心和照顧表達了感激之情。他說：“我們的祝福與你們同在?！?/p>

韓博對戰(zhàn)勝疫情非常有信心，他說：“我百分百相信中國人民能戰(zhàn)勝疫情。中國人可以在短短的10 天之內建成一座擁有1000 張床位的醫(yī)院，也完全可以戰(zhàn)勝疫情；但是，這需要一點時間?！?/p>

韓博的信心來自對武漢的了解與熱愛。在武漢兩年多的學習和生活，早已使韓博視武漢為其第二故鄉(xiāng)。

回想起兩年多前剛剛到武漢時，韓博的朋友帶他游覽武漢市。韓博說那時武漢到處都是在建工程。此外，隨處可見的還有一句標語“武漢每天不一樣”。當時他不懂漢語，不知道這是什么意思，就拍了照片回來問他的老師。老師給他解釋后，韓博當時想：“這不過是個口號而已?！?/p>

然而，當韓博拿一張剛剛舉辦過第七屆世界軍人運動會之后的武漢照片跟2017年的照片相比時，他的內心震撼不已?！拔錆h每天不一樣”根本不是一個口號，而是一個路線圖；通過它，武漢每天都在變，的確做到了每天不一樣。

韓博非常喜歡武漢的風景，游它千遍也不厭倦。以前，他經常跟朋友們去江漢路步行街購物，也不時去江邊賞景、東湖游玩。除了武漢的美景，韓博在這里也感受到家的溫暖。跟許多生活在異國他鄉(xiāng)的人一樣，在一些特殊的時刻，韓博也會想念故鄉(xiāng)和家人。為此，學校的老師經常會邀請包括韓博在內的國際學生到家里共度中國傳統(tǒng)佳節(jié)。2019年的冬至，韓博跟同學們在宋老師家里一起包餃子，體驗中國文化。韓博說，這不僅使他了解了中國的家庭文化，也讓他有了“我們是一個家庭”的感覺。

中巴之間深厚友誼的種子可能就在每一個這樣的時刻生根、發(fā)芽并根植于中巴兩國人民的心中。

“I am thankful from the bottom of my heart to the Chinese government and especially to Wuhan municipal government as they are doing their best to keep us safe and provide us with daily necessities in such a tough situation.”

He added, “On behalf of all Pakistani students, I want to say thanks to Silk Road Institute, CUG for their care and attention. Our prayers are with you.”

He also expressed his confidence that China will win the battle against coronavirus.

“I am 100 percent sure that China will win. They could construct a 1,000-bed hospital in only 10 days, so could they defeat this virus. We only need to wait a little bit longer before the success is achieved.”

Rehman’s confidence comes from his understanding of Wuhan. Having studied and lived here for over two years, he has taken Wuhan as his second home.

He recalled the early days when he came to Wuhan two years ago. When his friend showed him around in the city, Rehman noticed that construction sites and the slogan “Wuhan, different every day!” written in Chinese were seen everywhere. He didn’t know the slogan’s meaning as he didn’t understand Chinese then. After his teacher told him the meaning, Rehman thought it was just some empty words.

However, comparing the old photos of Wuhan shot in 2017 with recent ones, especially those taken after the 7th Military World Games in 2019, Rehman realized that the slogan was indeed a promise which the government of Wuhan has kept by bringing about changes on a daily basis.

Rehman is fond of the scenery in Wuhan. He never gets tired of hanging around in the city. Before the epidemic, he often went to Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street for shopping with his friends, and walked along the riverside or visit the East Lake to enjoy the scenery. In addition to the beautiful scenery of Wuhan, Rehman also feels the warmth of home here. Like many people living in foreign countries, Rehman feels homesick sometimes. Teachers often invite Rehman and other international students to their homes during traditional Chinese festivals. At the Winter Solstice in 2019, Rehman and his classmates made dumplings at the home of Professor Song to experience Chinese culture. Rehman said that it not only helped him understand the Chinese family culture, but also made him feel like he was part of a family.

It is through such communications that the seeds of friendship between China and Pakistan take deep root in the hearts of the two peoples.
