Fishermen’s Holiday， also known as Fishermen’sDay， is a holiday on the first Friday in every July. It is aday that celebrates one of the most important jobs in theMarshall Islands. Since it was first populated1， fishing hasbeen one of the best ways to get food， and it remains2 to this dayone of the most important things in people’s life.

漁民的假日，也稱為漁民節(jié)，是定在每年七月第一個星期五的節(jié)日。這一天是為了慶祝馬紹爾群島最重要的職業(yè)之一。自從有人居住以來，捕魚一直是這里獲取食物的最佳方式之一，直到今天，它仍然是人們生活中最重要的事情之一。

Even so， this holiday has not been around for a long time and has only beencelebrated over the past 40 years. Now， this holiday is a day for fishing competitions，eating plenty of fresh fish， and other activities.

This holiday can be traced3 back to 1981 when four friends founded theMarshalls Billfish Club. These four friends were Wally Milne， Tom Michaels， RonnieReimers， and Ramsey Reimers. They founded the club so they could be invited tothe Hawaiian Invitational Billfish Tournament4 Championship5 that took place inKona， Hawaii.

During their first tournament， they caught amore than 700 pound marlin6 that was one of thebiggest fish in the competition7. They sure won8 thecompetition， and they then created9 their owntournament. The tournament was first held in July of1982. It has since been an important competition， soimportant that it was made the Fishermen’s Holiday.

On this holiday， several fishing tournaments are held. People not only enjoythe sport of fishing but also the bounties10 they get from the sea. People also taketime to spend with friends and family members. It’s a great day for seafood， theocean， and enjoying some of the beautiful beaches of the Marshall Islands.

在這個節(jié)日，人們會舉行幾場釣魚比賽。人們不僅喜歡釣魚這項運動，還喜歡從海里撈到的獎金，也能花時間陪朋友和家人。這是一個享用海鮮、游覽大海和馬紹爾群島美麗海灘的好日子。
