We have often seen on the film screens stories about gun battles in Chicagos streets and we know little about the citys rich culture life.

In fact， it has one of the first class symphonies in the US and it has always been producing world famous singers and jazz greats.

Museums are its another cultural establishment. The University of Chicago， famous for sociologists， economists and Nobel Prize winners， is one of 50 colleges and universities in the city.

博物館是芝加哥另外一個文化產(chǎn)物。芝加哥大學是美國排名前五十名的大學，以培養(yǎng)社會學家、經(jīng)濟學家和諾貝爾獲獎獲得者而著名。

The former worlds tallest skyscraper， Sears Tower， is also there. The Chicago Herald Tribune Building looks much more magnificent with the lights on at night. The two splendid towers of Marina City are called “A Pile of Pennies” by the English and “Ears of Corn” by the Americans because of the way they are built.

曾經(jīng)的世界最高樓——希爾斯大樓，也坐落在芝加哥。芝加哥先驅論壇報大廈夜晚燈火輝煌十分壯觀。這座濱海城的兩個輝煌的塔以修建方式命名，英國人修建的被稱為“便士樁”，美國人修建的叫“麥穗”。
