IBM CFO, Martin Schroeter
Because the world is experiencing something of a data glut, Schroeter said that artificial intelligence tech will ultimately be the leading way for companies to understand all the information. "Our point of view has always been that you need a good set of cognitive technologies to make sense of all that data." the CFO said. But while IBM will continue to re-invest in and grow its business, Schroeter admitted that the spending has probably peaked. Schroeter said it was time for the company to stabilize its spending so that its newly bought entities would receive the proper amount of money to develop their offerings over time.

Deutsche Bank CFO, James von Moltke
Deutsche Bank reported an almost 10 percent drop in revenue in the three months through September, versus the year before, amid a weak market and the ongoing turmoil of a major restructuring program. CFO James von Moltke said,"We swim in a pool with our competitors and particularly the capital markets environment has been weak in the past couple of quarters, so we're looking for the revenues to pick up."

Lam Research CFO,Doug Bettinger
Last year's failed $10 billion bid for KLA-Tencor Corp likely marks the end of efforts at any major acquisitions by Lam Research Corp and other booming producers of equipment for chipmakers, Lam's CFO Doug Bettinger said. He said, however, that he was not opposed to one or two smaller deals. "I think large scale M&A is perhaps behind us. It doesn't mean that there might not be a tuck in or two left out there, but the last two really big deals didn't clear the regulatory process."
