To celebrate the 50anniversary of the China-UK ambassadorial diplomatic relations, the British Consulate-General in Chongqing held a unique “flash event” on August 12at the Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street in Yuzhong District.

為慶祝中英大使級外交關(guān)系建立50周年，8月12日，英國駐重慶總領(lǐng)事館在渝中區(qū)解放碑步行街，舉辦了一場別開生面的快閃活動。

The “Flash Event” Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of China-UK Ambassadorial Diplomatic Relations Held in Chongqing慶祝中英建交50周年快閃活動在渝舉行。

In the evening, Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street was crowded with people; suddenly, a group of young people in white T-shirts and jeans appeared with microphones, singing classic songs such as, and. It was so exciting and interesting that many people stopped to watch and take pictures. After a magic show, many glass jars tied with red ribbons and filled with themed puddings were presented on a trolley to celebrate the 50anniversary of the establishment of China-UK ambassadorial diplomatic relations. Members of the British Consulate-General in Chongqing handed out these commemorative puddings to the surrounding citizens.

Later, the “flash team” held up symbolic signboards like “Big Ben & 50 & Liberation Monument”, marking a successful conclusion of this celebration.

傍晚，解放碑步行街人來人往，突然，一群身著白T恤、牛仔褲的年輕人手持話筒出現(xiàn)在人群中，他們演唱起《Rather Be》《Imagine》《海闊天空》等經(jīng)典歌曲，現(xiàn)場氣氛高漲，人們駐足觀看拍照。一番魔術(shù)表演之后，小推車上出現(xiàn)了許多系著紅絲帶的玻璃瓶，這是為紀(jì)念中英大使級外交關(guān)系建立50周年特制的主題布丁。英國駐重慶總領(lǐng)館工作人員將這些具有紀(jì)念意義的布丁分發(fā)給圍觀的市民。

隨后，快閃團(tuán)隊舉起“大本鐘 & 50 & 解放碑”等標(biāo)志模型，慶祝中英大使級外交關(guān)系建立50周年快閃活動圓滿結(jié)束。

50年來，中國已成為英國第三大貿(mào)易合作伙伴。英國也成為中國海外投資最大的目的國。此外，中英兩國在文化交流、技術(shù)創(chuàng)新和應(yīng)對全球挑戰(zhàn)等多個領(lǐng)域開展了深入的交流和合作。據(jù)統(tǒng)計，2021年，重慶和英國的貿(mào)易再創(chuàng)新高，達(dá)到130億元人民幣；新增6家英國企業(yè)落戶重慶，英國在渝企業(yè)總數(shù)將近100家。

Over the past 5 decades, China has become the UK’s third largest trading partner and the UK has also attracted most of China’s overseas investment. In addition, the two countries have had in-depth communication and cooperation in many fields such as cultural exchanges,sci-tech innovation, and addressing global challenges.Statistics show that in 2021, trade between Chongqing and the UK reached a record high of RMB13 billion; 6 new British companies settled in Chongqing, bringing the total number of British companies in Chongqing to nearly 100.

Tim Standbrook, Acting Consul-General of the U.K. in Chongqing, participated in the “flash event”.He expressed his hope that in the future, the U.K. could have more extensive and in-depth cooperation in fields like the development of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-Hub Mega-Region and western China financial center, energy,carbon neutrality, digital transformation, etc.

英國駐重慶代總領(lǐng)事施博榮全程參與本次快閃活動。他表示，未來，希望英國能在成渝地區(qū)雙城經(jīng)濟(jì)圈、西部金融中心建設(shè)，以及能源、碳中和、數(shù)字化轉(zhuǎn)型等領(lǐng)域參與更加廣泛深入的合作。
