摘 要:多媒體具有共享性好、表現(xiàn)力豐富、信息容量大、交互性能強(qiáng)等特點(diǎn)。本文通過(guò)多媒體課件在英語(yǔ)閱讀課的教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)與實(shí)踐,展示了多媒體輔助教學(xué)在激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)興趣,提高學(xué)生閱讀技能等方面的作用。

《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)大綱》明確規(guī)定:“培養(yǎng)學(xué)生具有較強(qiáng)的閱讀能力和一定的聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、寫(xiě)、譯能力,使他們能用英語(yǔ)交流信息?!?/p>
閱讀不僅是語(yǔ)言輸入的主要來(lái)源,也是聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、寫(xiě)、譯其他技能發(fā)展的基礎(chǔ)和源頭,閱讀能力是大部分非英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)生今后使用英語(yǔ)的主要技能,閱讀能力的培養(yǎng)應(yīng)該放在首位。多媒體教學(xué)具有表現(xiàn)力豐富,信息容量大,交互性能好等特點(diǎn),能將抽象的概念形象化、直觀(guān)化;運(yùn)用現(xiàn)代教育思想,根據(jù)不同的教學(xué)目標(biāo)以及各種媒體的特性功能,從培養(yǎng)人才的目標(biāo)出發(fā),根據(jù)教學(xué)實(shí)際需要,設(shè)計(jì)英語(yǔ)閱讀課的教學(xué),能提高閱讀教學(xué)效率,有效提高學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)質(zhì)量,使學(xué)生真正參與到學(xué)習(xí)和探究活動(dòng)中來(lái),促進(jìn)課堂教學(xué)的交流、探索、發(fā)現(xiàn)和創(chuàng)新。

現(xiàn)代教學(xué)媒體設(shè)計(jì)閱讀教學(xué),能簡(jiǎn)化教學(xué)過(guò)程,提高課堂傳遞教學(xué)信息的質(zhì)量,有利于教師的指導(dǎo)作用和學(xué)習(xí)主體作用的發(fā)揮。以新視野大學(xué)英語(yǔ)(第二版)讀寫(xiě)教程1 Unit5 SectionA為例。課文的題目是:The Battle Against AIDS(與艾滋病抗?fàn)?。艾滋病是我國(guó)重點(diǎn)控制的重大疾病,也是全球關(guān)注的重要公共衛(wèi)生和社會(huì)熱點(diǎn)問(wèn)題。在引導(dǎo)學(xué)生進(jìn)行閱讀時(shí),首先,運(yùn)用幻燈把相關(guān)的專(zhuān)業(yè)名詞打出。

AIDS, acquired immune deficiency syndrome, is a disease which destroys the natural method the body uses to protect against other diseases. It is a disease caused by the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), but AIDS is different from HIV in that the former usually causes death while HIV may lead to AIDS. HIV is spread in three ways: (1) contact with infected blood; (2) sex; (3) mother-to-child. AIDS usually develops in four stages: (1) In the first stage, there is only infection by HIV and antibody (抗體) production. (2) In the second stage, the lymph nodes (淋巴結(jié)) enlarge (腫大). (3) In the third stage, an infected person may begin to have such signs (癥狀) as tiredness, fever, and night sweats. (4) In the last stage, AIDS is diagnosed when a person develops certain uncommon, life-threatening illnesses, for example Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia(卡氏肺囊蟲(chóng)肺炎 ).
HIV is the human immunodeficiency virus. This is the virus that spreads through contact with infected blood, infected sexual partners or within the womb of an infected pregnant mother. After infecting a person, HIV can remain hidden in the body for long and different periods of time until it becomes active and develops into AIDS for which no known cure exists. The virus spreads very fast once contact has been made with an infected source.

HIVand AIDS is one of the biggest social, economic and health challeges in the world. It is a global emergency claiming over 8,000 lives every day. In fact 5 people die of AIDS every minute. Since AIDS was diagnosed in the United States in the 1970s, AIDS has killed more than 204,000Americanshalfof that number in the past few years alone. Another 185,000of the one millioninfected with the HIV virus are expected to die within the next year.
HIV is spread in four ways:
1.the most common way is the unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected partner;
2.sharing needles or other contaminated injection or skin-piercing equipment;
3.blood and blood products through, for example, infected transfusion an organ or tissue transplantas;
4.transmission from infected mother to child in the womb or at birth and breastfeeding.

反復(fù)兩遍播放課文錄音,學(xué)生對(duì)課文的大意基本掌握;然后播放事先制作的幻燈片,如:World AIDS Day; The theme for World AIDS Day; Red Ribbon等, 讓學(xué)生加深對(duì)課文的理解,開(kāi)拓視野。在此基礎(chǔ)上讓學(xué)生總結(jié)課文中心,進(jìn)行熱點(diǎn)問(wèn)題的討論,充分調(diào)動(dòng)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)主體的積極性,并投影課文的寫(xiě)作技巧、結(jié)構(gòu)分析、段落大意等,最后,利用語(yǔ)言學(xué)習(xí)系統(tǒng)對(duì)整篇課文作小結(jié)并利用投影檢查學(xué)生對(duì)課文的掌握程度。由此進(jìn)行課文閱讀教學(xué), 學(xué)生印象更深刻,反映更強(qiáng)烈,充分調(diào)動(dòng)了學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)積極性。

多媒體輔助閱讀教學(xué)的設(shè)計(jì)與應(yīng)用為英語(yǔ)閱讀教學(xué)提供了優(yōu)越的客觀(guān)環(huán)境和條件,現(xiàn)代化的多媒體環(huán)境下新的教學(xué)模式,突破了傳統(tǒng)教學(xué)模式的不足,大大提高了教學(xué)效率,最大限度地提高了閱讀教學(xué)的質(zhì)量。
