Abstract:At the new starting point of the “14thFive-Year Plan” Period, the modern science and technology museum system is faced with new opportunities and challenges in the era, and it is urgent to implement the supply-side reform of science popularization resources. The reform should be in the common direction of bracing public participation, strengthening cross-border integration, applying emerging technologies, promoting the science popularization industry, and deepening international cooperation, optimizing the level and quality of exhibitions, deepening the diversity and innovation of educational resources, and refining detection and response of visitors’ demand, strengthening academic construction and achievement transformation. The goal of the reform is to enhance the attractiveness of exhibitions, scientific communication power, precise service power and innovation driving force, and embark on the road of high-quality, high-efficiency modern science and technology museums.

Abstract:Science and technology museum is an foundational position of informal science education, which plays an important role in cultivating future science and technology innovational talents and improving scientific literacy of teenagers. The release ofThe14thFive-YearPlanfortheDevelopmentofChineseModernScienceandTechnologyMuseumSystem(2021-2025) marks that the development of science and technology museum in China has entered a new stage. Based on the important position of science education in science and technology museums, this study sets new goals in value guidance, supply side reform, and open system construction. Combined with the existing problems of science education in Chinese science and technology museums, this paper puts forward solutions from the aspects of theoretical research, resource development, and ecological system construction, so as to improve the teenagers’ scientific literacy in China.

Abstract:In the context of the publication ofTheOutlineoftheNationwideScientificLiteracyActionPlan(2021-2035) andThe14thFive-YearPlanfortheDevelopmentofChineseModernScienceandTechnologyMuseumSystem(2021-2025), this paper reviews the historical background in which various science popularization venues were born, and the characteristics of these venues. Combined with such discussion, this paper analyzes the historical mission of advocating scientific methods, disseminating scientific ideas, and promoting the scientific spirit and the spirit of scientists. Then, the paper analyzes and proposes the requirements of scientific and cultural construction on popular science venues, and puts forward some suggestions on the construction of modern science and technology museum system from the perspective of realizing scientific and cultural value guidance, such as enhancing strategic consciousness, strengthening academic research and breaking professional barriers.

Abstract:Based on the thinking and experience of participating in the research and establishment ofThe14thFive-YearPlanfortheDevelopmentofChineseModernScienceandTechnologyMuseumSystem(2021-2025), this paper attempts to interpret the new blueprint of the development of Modern Science and Technology Museum System as a whole, analyzes the background and starting point of the Plan, and combs existing problems of the System. In the paper, countermeasures to the problems are given by redefining Science and Technology Museum System; five key tasks and corresponding safeguards are proposed and the characteristics and key points of the Plan are expounded, so as to provide reference for the effective implementation of the Plan.

Abstract:In recent years, science and technology museum system has gradually explored some development patterns, like the general-branch system and cross-border integration etc., which have effectively promoted the co-construction and sharing of science popularization resources. However, there are also many problems in the development process, such as the imperfectness of co-ordination mechanism, the unbalanced provincial system of science and technology museums, and the relative lack of social cooperation and coordination. Under the new pattern of “focusing on pattern reshaping” and “promoting the establishment of vertical integration and horizontal coordination” of the science and technology museum system, the co-construction and sharing mechanism can be further focused on building a comprehensive service platform, promoting the construction of provincial science and technology museum system, and exploring social mobilization mechanism.

Taking the innovative practice of Guangdong Science Center exhibition R&D as an example, this paper discusses the new ways of high-quality innovation development of science and technology museum exhibitions from four aspects: uniting social forces, establishing R&D mechanism, exploring cross-border integration and perfecting innovation development.

This linkage plan will promote the co-construction and sharing of science popularization resources of Chinese science museums, and explore the linkage development mode through resource connection, activity connection and intelligence connection. A Case Study of Guangxi Science and Technology Museum’s Brand Activities

Abstract:By taking the science popularization activities conducted by Guangxi Science and Technology Museum as examples, the practice of resource linkage, integration and recreation was analyzed to improve the brand value and attraction for public of the mentioned activities. In order to promote the innovation and development of science popularization activities, the measures such as improving brand value by social diversified linkage, optimizing resource allocation at grassroots level by introducing market mechanism, embeding into public social life and creating science and technology museum culture are listed. A new pathway of establishing a linked and shared resource platform is thus proposed for the purpose of promoting value extension of museum activities and establishing a better ecosystem of science popularization.

This paper briefly introduces the background of transformation and upgrading of Digital Science and Technology Museum in the 14thFive-Year Plan (2021-2025) period, puts forward the overall framework of “Three Intelligences”, which centers on “intelligent service”, “intelligent management” and “intelligent sharing”. Then, it analyzes the internal and external construction foundation of building “Three Intelligences”, and expounds the key tasks in detail. Abstract:Based on statistical data and field research, this paper analyzed the achievements and development experiences of science and technology museums during the 13thFive-Year Plan period. It pointed out some main problems: the quantity and quality of science and technology museums cannot meet the needs of the public; the dissemination of scientific spirit and the supply of high-quality exhibits is insufficient; the standardization work needs to be strengthened. According to the new situation and requirements, this paper puts forward the development goals and relevant policy recommendations for science and technology museums during the 14thFive-Year Plan period: firstly, increasing investment and continuously promoting the balanced regional development of science and technology museums in China; secondly, innovating models to improve the quality of exhibits research and development; thirdly, guiding in values to give full play to the “Three Bases and One Platform” function; finally, setting standards firstly to promote the standardized development of science and technology museums.

It is emphasized inThe14thFive-YearPlanfortheDevelopmentofModernScienceandTechnologyMuseumSystem(2021-2025) that the supply-side reform in science popularization resources should be strengthened, the contents, forms and means of science popularization should be innovated and a travelling science popularization resource database should be established in order to satisfy the diversified demands of different regions and populations. China Science and Technology Museum has made the overall arrangement in advance on the development in thematic oriented and modularization of the travelling science popularization resources. The database has been initially built and run with some experiences, making a solid base for the next step of precise services.

Abstract:The travelling science popularization facilities have greatly improved the fairness and universal benefit of the science popularization and the equalization of urban and rural public cultural services. With the development of the science popularization, a new pattern has been used to break the barriers of sharing science popularization resources between museums at grassroots level and to satisfy the diversified demands of the grassroots public. Under such a background, travelling science popularization facilities have made a useful attempt to share exhibition resources regionally, including optimized the flow and allocation of science resources elements in a region and increased their utilization rate.In order to accelerate the supply efficiency and promote the construction of Modern Science and Technology Museum System, this paper suggestes building the evaluation and motivation system, expanding the service content and developing different kinds of science popularization resources for travelling science popularization facilities. By doing so, the healthy and orderly development of travelling science popularization facilities will be achieved and an integrated provincial, city and county development work pattern will be formed.
